B & B Precise Products, Inc. is a precision manufacturer/machine shop that employs 25 people at their facility in Benton and makes custom metal parts. They became a client of the Maine Procurement Technical Assistance Center in May of 2001.

Rachel Lynch, a Maine PTAC government procurement specialist, helped the company define the criteria that it uses to find and review bids put out primarily from the Defense Supply Centers. We were also able to assist the company in registering its company on the Central Contractor Registration and the Procurement Gateway. Rachel’s efforts on behalf of B & B Precise Products, Inc. in assisting them with government contracting procedures, National Stock Number searches, and specs and standards contributed towards the company’s successful expansion into government markets.

B & B Precise’s sales to the government sector went from small contracts under $10,000 in 2001 to multi-year multi-million dollar contracts in 2004. The success of this business strategy lies primarily with the management of the company and its employees. We are glad that the Maine PTAC could be a small part of its success.
