Counseling & Technical Assistance

Procurement Counselors provide individualized counseling that helps businesses expand into federal, state, and local government markets. During one-on-one counseling sessions, we work with our clients to create an action plan and develop a strategy. We cover topics including:

  • Determining eligibility
  • Creating capability statements
  • Finding contracting and sub-contracting opportunities
  • Learning product and procurement histories
  • Understanding federal regulations and military specifications
  • Preparing for proposals (RFPs, RFQs)
  • Managing contracts post-award
    • Quality assurance, delivery of product/service, and billing
  • Exploring research and development

Registering as a government contractor, vendor, and/or supplier is the first step towards winning government contracts. In addition, eligible businesses can obtain certifications to help them gain preferential access to contracts. Our technical support guides businesses through:

  • Obtaining NAICS, federal supply, and product supply codes
  • GSA Scheduling
  • Creating Bid Match profiles
  • Registering for SAM (System for Award Management)
  • Applying for DBE, HUBZone, Women-Owned Small Business, and/or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Certifications
